Servaccomm design, build and install new four storey modular extension for Stockport NHS Trust.Servaccomm recently won a prestigious contract to design, manufacture and install a 2,300 square metre four-storey modular building for MTX Contracts under a Procure 21 contract for principal supply chain partner Laing O'Rourke. The four storey building was manufactured in East Yorks under factory controlled conditions providing a high quality building which, was then delivered to site in 110 separate modules and installed in a two week period onto previously prepared foundations and services.
Once the modules were in position, the external claddings were applied on site comprising brickwork to the ground floor level and a render finish to the remaining three floors, finished with a Kingspan soffit and fascia detail to match the existing surrounding buildings.
At the same time the external finishes were being applied, the internal fit-out was being installed and completed by MTX, bringing further time savings to the contract, with the new building incorporating two fully equipped orthopaedic operating theatres, two 16 bed wards, three 4 bed bays, a four bed recovery ward and other ancillary areas, with a dedicated plant room on the third floor.
The building is a permanent addition to the Trust which reduced the build time by 40%; installation of the building took place in September 2008 with hand over in February 2009.Servaccomm's bespoke designed modular building system can be manufactured to meet most criteria and has provided the ideal structure for the NHS at Stepping Hill.
