The brief

Servaccomm are working closely with Timpson to design fully factory-fitted Timpson stores, which are being installed in supermarkets and other selected retail park locations around the UK.

The solution

The kiosks are very compact, measuring only 16m2 but are packed with equipment such as shoe repair and key cutting machines.

Servaccomm have designed a lightweight galvanised steel frame kiosk, which has been specially engineered for a retail kiosk. The new stores are built to permanent building standards but relocatable to allow full flexibility for the client.

Less disruption on site

The stores were designed to have a very thin floor construction, which allows the kiosk to be installed on foundations with a minimum of excavation works but still gives a very low threshold at the entrance.

The fit-out includes all floor, wall and ceiling finishes both internal and external, all services, all signage and all shop fitting work fully completed. The only site work inside the kiosks is connection of services.

Speedy delivery and installation

The kiosks are delivered to each location on a Hiab-equipped vehicle and are installed by a small team of site operatives, usually in less than two hours. The kiosks are usually installed on a Sunday afternoon to reduce disruption to retail opening hours and customers.

After connection to mains services and being stocked with merchandise, the kiosk is open for business by the end of the week.
